Morriston ED is a busy department seeing 85,000 patients per year. We have 9 resus spaces, 14
Majors trolley spaces, 5 ambulatory majors spaces, and a separate Paediatric department (CEU) with
9 trolley spaces. We have a co-located MIU run by the ENPs within the footprint of ED. The OPAU
(Older Persons Assessment Unit) will take patients from the department to reduced admissions for
our older patients.
Teaching opportunities
There is protected weekly SHO teaching, monthly Registrar teaching and weekly Fiesta Friday (which
includes clinical governance, M&M meetings, paediatric safeguarding meetings and teaching on
variety of topics) which is open to all staff.
